Everyone has an opinion. Hornberger has some valid points but suppose we brought home all our troops. I agree that is a good idea; however, our Founding Fathers knew from experience that allowing solders to police the streets is unwise and dangerous.
The Swiss’ model has similarities to the colonial militia and minute-man model here in 18th- and early 19th-century America. Arming and training citizens could also be profitable for the military industrial complex and it would keep those dollars here in America to provide ongoing economic benefit.
